Dan Hom has more than 20 years of community involvement, business experience and international expertise. As the President of Focuscom, his responsibilities include managing and providing strategy for clients, and driving business development. Dan has significant experience with various communities in San Diego County. Over the years, Dan has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations like the San Diego Hospice, the Risen Project, the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, and the Asian Business Association. He was also a board member of two privately held corporations, each with revenues exceeding $10 million annually.
Born and raised in San Diego, Dan is a community relations expert and his community connections continue to stretch across a wide range of areas and industries. Dan studied political science at San Diego State University with a minor in Mandarin Chinese studies. He currently lives in the city of Chula Vista with his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Audrey.
Lisa is Focuscom Inc.’s financial controller with a role that focuses on invoicing aspects, directing all accounts receivable and accounts payable. Currently, she is the controller at Polaris Pharmaceuticals Inc. In La Jolla. She is responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities.
Prior to joining Focuscom Inc., she was the staff accountant at Bullen Ruch & Neller, a CPA firm. She has also served at the community service representative for San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts.
Olivia brings a fresh perspective and passion to learn and grow to the Focuscom team. In her efforts in the culinary, beer, nonprofit and local businesses spaces, she has garnered local, national and international media recognition for Focuscom’s clients. From her start as an intern to being promoted to an account executive, her desire to share a company’s story has guided her to be successful in media relations, community engagement and producing creative content.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Olivia moved to San Diego simply due to her passion to learn Spanish. She attended Point Loma Nazarene University, majoring in Spanish and minoring in both Writing and Public Relations. She enjoys and values the rich Spanish-speaking community in the San Diego-Tijuana area. She served as the Education Sponsorship Program Coordinator as a part of Mexico Ministries at PLNU. While in this position, she created a pen pal program between university students and children living at an orphanage in Tijuana. Olivia’s sense of cultural awareness comes from travelling Europe, studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain and being completely immersed in a Spanish-speaking culture.
Olivia offers bilingualism, writing, interpersonal communication skills and a creative mind to the team. In her commitment to always sharpen her industry skills, Olivia is a member of the Public Relations Society of America San Diego/Imperial Counties and serves on the Communications Committee.

Tanita Antonio was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1999. Being raised within two different cultures has allowed her to develop a strong understanding of cultural relativism. This experience motivated her to pursue an educational career in Marketing Research and Management. Her skill set in marketing and consumer research are enhanced by her familiar understanding of social differences.
Tanita studied at Bellevue College in Bellevue Washington where she took part of an International Business Program that connected students with small businesses in Seattle, Washington for hands on experience in creating a complete marketing plan. This practical training program at Bellevue College allowed her to experience marketing, public relations, and brand research in a diverse and real business environment. She completed a Marketing Management Associates degree in 2014 from BC before transferring to Penn State University. Tanita is currently in her senior year of completing a BA in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and Management from Penn State. Her interest and curiosity about the PR industry have led her to join our team for the spring semester in completing her internship requirements.
She incorporates her understanding of diversity and connectivity in all projects, presenting results that illustrate beyond basic analysis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, friends and family while appreciating sunny San Diego.
Tomas Urtasun serves as a main point of contact for many of Focuscom’s wide client portfolio while also serving as a business development and daily strategic operation manager. He’s responsible for Focuscom’s largest clients and serves as point person for the agencies’ growing crisis communications arm.
Tomas exhibits keen interpersonal skills and an affinity for working with people from all walks of life. An active leader in the community, he serves as Board Treasurer for the Board of Trustees of San Ysidro Health Center, a top-10 community health network in the nation. He is also a new addition to the Board for San Diego Tax Payers Association and serves as a Big Brother during his free time.
He has worked previously for the U.S. Congress, San Diego Gas & Electric, Hutchens P.R., and Southwest Strategies, and internationally as a consultant for Enersud Clean Energy in Rio de Janeiro. Tomas has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
Tomas is a 2016 San Diego 40 Under 40 Honoree, representing a group of bright and outstanding individuals. He was a finalist for San Diego Magazine’s 2013 Latinos Making a Difference. He’s also an avid athlete and competes in sports leagues year around. Tomas is bilingual and grew up in Imperial Beach, California.

Nikki adds her unique relationships and personable touch to the Focuscom team. Her media experience and thorough writing skills have secured local and national media placement across broadcast, web and print outlets. In addition, her project management, community outreach efforts and land-use experience have established strong foundational relationships across media outlets and other community groups.
Born and raised in San Diego, Nikki enjoys being out in the community. She's active with the Public Relations Society of America, San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter (PRSA SD/IC). From serving as the mentor program co-chair on the 2014 'New Pros' Committee to the membership chair on the board of the directors, she now serves as the co-chair of the Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards. Nikki also serves as the digital director for the Asian American Journalists Association, San Diego Chapter (AAJA SD).
With a desire to truly connect with people near and far, Nikki loves traveling to meet people and experience new cultures. Her experience teaching English in Thailand, serving on mission trips to Baja Mexico and Argentina, and coaching a high school field hockey team have also added to her appreciation of community support and good relationships.
Nikki was awarded the 2014 'New Pro of the Year' Award by PRSA SD/IC. She graduated magna cum laude from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a Minor in Public Relations.

As an authorized SDG&E outreach consultant with Focuscom, Rebecca is out in the community on a daily basis enrolling families into much needed low-income assistance programs. Rebecca is a San Diego native – she lives in Escondido and has a degree in mathematics from UCSD. Her enthusiasm for marketing and promotions come from her years of experience with promotions for Corky’s Pest Control, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and the San Diego County Fair, where she promoted new products created by talented inventors.
Charmaine’s role as an authorized SDG&E outreach consultant with Focuscom gives her the ability to help low income families in the San Diego County area through low income assistance programs. Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, Charmaine moved to San Diego five years ago simply due to California dreaming. Every day she looks at a palm tree is a vacation for her!
Charmaine obtained a degree from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Outside of work, Charmaine has a heart for special needs children and is a photographer.
Chilan is a Junior at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where she is majoring in journalism on the advertising, public relations, and news tracks with a minor in graphic design. Within the Omaha community, she is an active member within Families in Action and Girl Scouts.
She has always had an interest in writing and working with a variety of different people. She adds a unique perspective to the Focuscom team through her desire to learn and network. Her writing skills and creativity offer an additional outlook to the team.
Born and raised in San Diego, Chilan enjoys taking advantage of everything that beautiful San Diego has to offer including the beaches and weather. When in San Diego, she enjoys spending her spare time trying new restaurants or at the beach.
